How good is the medical power supply prospect?

time2019/07/06

From the perspective of urbanization, by the end of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", China will complete the urbanization rate of 51.5%. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Health said recently: "Accelerating the process of urbanization and improving the medical service level of urban and rural residents is consistent with the current thinking of the health sector at the grassroots level and basic protection.
According to market research data, in 2012, China's medical power equipment market was about 150 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 21.3% in the past 10 years. The average annual growth rate is expected to rise to 23% in the next year. The scale will reach 340 billion yuan. It is worth noting that compared with 42% of the total medical equipment market in the world, the proportion of medical equipment in China is only 14%. It shows that there is still huge room for development in this market.

From the perspective of urbanization, by the end of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", China will complete the urbanization rate of 51.5%. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Health said recently: "Accelerating the process of urbanization and improving the level of medical services for urban and rural residents is consistent with the current thinking of the health sector at the grassroots level and basic protection." It can be seen that a new round of social economy with urbanization as the core Development not only means the improvement of the level of urban and rural infrastructure construction, but also means that the level of public medical services needs to be improved. In the field of health care, the focus of construction is county-level hospitals. The improvement of service capacity of county-level hospitals is expected to bring a new round of demand growth to the medical device market.

As the largest manufacturer of medical electronic equipment in China, Shenzhen Lianyunda Electronics is even more unwilling. It has become China's leading manufacturer of flexible endoscopes and ancillary equipment products; it has launched many Chinese “first” devices, such as blood oxygen saturation monitors, multi-parameter monitors, and fully automated three-part blood cell analysis. Instrument and so on. In China, government procurement projects have become an important way for Mindray Bio to expand its medical device market.

Medical power is getting new drivers
1. Pass the authoritative safety certification
Safety and isolation are a major difference between ordinary commercial power supplies and medical power supplies. Usually, except for some experimental analytical instruments, medical equipment is mostly installed near a hospital bed or operating table, and the distance between the person and the operator is relatively close, and the outer casing is often touched. There are a variety of strong and weak electrical components inside the medical equipment. If there is a problem between the isolation of the strong and weak electricity or the insulation of the outer casing material, it will be very dangerous. General medical power supplies must pass UL60601-1, C-UL, EN60601-1 and other safety certifications.

2. With electromagnetic compatibility and anti-electromagnetic interference capability
To select or build a good power supply system for medical equipment, care must be taken to improve the electromagnetic compatibility and immunity to electromagnetic interference of the power supply. Commonly used medical equipment power supplies need to pass the FCC-B, CISPR22-B, EN55011550226120461000 and other electromagnetic compatibility and anti-electromagnetic interference capability test, which not only ensures that no electromagnetic influence on other electronic components in the equipment, but also reduces the development cycle of medical equipment and The time of inspection before being introduced to the market.

3. Smaller size and high power density
At present, in addition to the development of multi-function, high detection and adjustment precision, medical equipment is also a development direction with smaller size and portability. This requires the medical power supply to have a higher power output with a smaller onboard area.

4. Adapt to special environmental applications
At present, most of the medical equipment on the market adopts a centralized power supply structure. Even if some power products can be output regulated by means of an external circuit, the adjustment range is not large, and stability is also problematic. If you encounter low voltage, high current or extremely high DC voltage, it is difficult to ensure the stable use of these power supplies.

5. High cost performance
In addition to considering product quality and reliability, the development and production of medical power supplies also need to consider price factors. Today's medical equipment is increasingly transparent due to fierce competition, especially for some small household medical equipment. The price has become very popular and popular. Therefore, as an important part of medical equipment, power supply components must have a competitive advantage in terms of product quality and reliability, and can be welcomed and trusted by medical equipment manufacturers and mass users.

Medical power supplies are products of special application, and their power supply components are very demanding. In the case of a strong medical equipment market, power supply manufacturers can only produce power products that meet industry standards and actual needs, and the business opportunities they receive can be turned into economic benefits.

What is medical power
1. The so-called power supply is the part that supplies power to the rear stage load, such as: dry battery, transformer, adapter, switching power supply, etc.

2. What is medical power? The so-called medical power supply refers to the use of medical medical equipment and meets the medical industry specifications, such as: GB9706/GBYY0505 and so on. Most of the medical instruments used are medical personnel. They do not have strong electrical related knowledge. Safety and convenience must be considered at the beginning of medical equipment design. The same medical power supply should have these two characteristics.

Main standard of medical power
1. Medical power supply mainly needs to meet the special specifications of GB9706 and some medical equipment. In terms of electrical, there are mainly two kinds of withstand voltage and leakage current. With the release of the GB9706 2005 specification, the requirements for efficiency and electromagnetic compatibility of medical equipment have also been put forward. And the power grid in some areas of China is not stable enough. Some medical equipment is exported to the Middle East, so the requirements of medical chargers can be summarized as follows:

1. Withstand voltage 4000V 2. Leakage current is less than 0.5mA 3. Efficiency is above 85% 4. MIC4 level certification 5. Input range meets 85V-264V

Special requirements for medical power
Currently, medical equipment mostly uses medical power. With the development of electronic technology, the switching power supply is not only greatly reduced in size, weight is reduced, but energy consumption is greatly reduced, and reliability is improved. The use of AC-powered medical diagnostic, measurement, and therapeutic equipment may expose patients and medical personnel to potential hazards such as electric shock, burns, internal organ damage, and arrhythmia due to leakage currents due to improper grounding and electrical insulation. .

Due to the special use environment of medical equipment, medical power products have more stringent requirements in terms of safety and reliability. For example, the insulation and leakage current requirements of IEC 60601-1 safety regulations, or their associated standards, such as: EN60601-1, UL60601-1, and CSA22.2, 601.1 M90, must be met. Table 1 summarizes the safety requirements for IEC 60601-1 medical equipment.

On the other hand, electromagnetic radiation and electromagnetic radiation protection of medical devices is an important parameter standard for medical power supplies, involving surge and transient current strength, electrostatic discharge (ESD) levels, and radio frequency interference (RFI) protection capabilities. Many medical applications involve RF therapy devices or non-invasive electronic surgical instruments, so the power supply must be immune to interference and unaffected.

Qualified medical power supplies shall comply with the EN60601-1-2 standard that complies with EMC related technical requirements. Not only that, the medical power supply must also meet IEC61000-4-2 (electrostatic protection capability, required to reach 3kV), IEC61000-4-3 (radio frequency radiation protection capability, required to reach 3V/m), IEC61000-4-4 EFT (voltage transient) Variable capacity, required to reach 1kV), IEC61000-4-5 (mains surge current capability, required to reach 1kV and 2kV), IEC61000-3-2 (mains line harmonic requirements), IEC61000-3-3 (power line flash Variable requirements), and EN55011 (Class A product or B product radiation restrictions) and other requirements.

In addition, there are some special requirements related to specific applications. For example, the system may be used in an ambulance, and voltage shocks may occur. This power supply should at least comply with IEC 68-2-29; some devices are portable devices. It may be used on helicopters and random vibrations may occur. Such power supplies shall comply with MIL-STD-810E.
